What do you want to know about Wing drone delivery?

For our customers in Logan & Canberra in Australia, Southwest Virginia in the United States, and Helsinki in Finland, drone delivery has become a regular part of the routine over the past few years. However, for those who we’re not yet able to deliver to, we receive lots of really clever and curious questions about our service and our technology. Starting today - we’re hoping to lift the lid on our service through a new video series called “Ask Wing” -  where we’ll do our best to answer all of your queries. Got something you want answered? Let us know by tagging @Wing on Facebook or Twitter with your question.

One of the first questions that most people ask is what our drones deliver. The answer is, a lot!  In Australia, delicious barista-made coffee and hot chooks have become a local fave. In Virginia, Mexican food and library books have been crowd pleasers.

Beyond snacks, we deliver a range of hardware items, household items such as cleaning supplies, eggs, coffee, sushi and even a full roasted chicken! Whatever is under 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) and can fit into one of our aerodynamic packages can be delivered by a Wing drone.

Another commonly asked question is whether Wing’s drone will land at someone’s house. Our drones are designed not to land, to ensure all people (and pets!) remain at a safe distance from the aircraft. Wing drones hover over a designated delivery zone and will gently lower the package down on a string. Customers can then simply retrieve the package from their yard once the drone has flown away.

Now, you’re probably wondering - “how can I become a Wing customer and get things delivered to my home by drone”?  You’re far from alone in asking that question - if you live in one of our service areas, all you need to do is download the Wing Drone Delivery App from the iOS or Play Store on your phone, see if you’re eligible, and begin ordering!
